There is growing evidence that Schema Therapy (ST) is a highly effective form of psychotherapy for patients with personality disorders and, by implication, the broad range of negative life patterns (“Early Maladaptive Schemas”) that make up the features that define these disorders (Giesen-Bloo et al., 2006; Sempertegui, Karreman, Arntz & Bekker, 2013; Taylor & Arntz, 2016). These negative life patterns are also central features that play an important role in the origin and maintenance of a number of other disorders.
We invite APACS members to Schema Therapy Professional Training accredited by the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). After completion, participants with relevant qualifications can attend the advanced level and apply for ISST Membership and work towards becoming a Certified Schema Therapist.
