Global issues like COVID-19 can make one feel incredibly overwhelmed simply because there is so much uncertainty around it. While we maintain social distancing, we are miserable when it comes to self-isolation. Fear of the unknown along with external stressors like finance affect our relationships. Individuals react because they are under tremendous pressure which is circumstantial, situational and sometimes self-created.
It is essential to understand our emotions. Emotions are most commonly associated with stress. Stress affects our emotional and mental state.
Individuals may go through a variety of stress events in daily life. Stress can become a chronic condition and lead to serious problems such as insomnia, high blood pressure, chronic pain and weakened immune system.
Since most of us are stuck at home or working from home, children included let us stay connected and learn about emotions and how to manage them. We also learn to be sensitive to emotional connections in family. To empathise with family in a non-blaming and compassionate way.
